Our founder, Gillian Hynes has excelled in leading HR strategy and HR operational excellence

both as an internal HR leader and an external HR consultant. 

Her professional experience spans HR operations, Talent Management and Development, EDI strategy and implementation, enterprise Learning and Development, Change Management, Performance Management and more. This experience stems across Multinational organizations in Calgary, Houston, London and the Netherlands, along with many field and operating locations in Canada and the United States. Gillian is a sought after speaker and thought leader at conferences including CPHR Alberta, HRD Leaders Summit, HRD Tech Summit, Workforce Forward and more. 

Our team also has decades of experience consulting with C-suite and Executive Leadership Teams, Multinational organizations, Small and Medium Enterprises, government departments, academic institutions and non-profit organizations. Together, our HR Fractional Leader or Team Member will conduct a comprehensive review of your HR function, including examining the external market, to identify strengths, gaps and opportunities. This helps us understand your business, culture, values, and HR current state so we know where to go next.

Step 1

HR Planning

Based on our findings and your goals, we create a customized HR plan that addresses your strategic priorities and most important challenges. The plan has clear expectations, clearly defined responsibilities and measurable performance for the Fractional HR Leader or Team Member. We will also clarify who the Leader or Team Member reports to and how often, specify any level of authority for decision-making and provide access to your organization’s resources and tools, including people, processes and systems.

Step 2

Culture and Values Alignment

Your Fractional HR support will participate in a comprehensive onboarding session that is unique to your organization and culture. We will identify key stakeholders and rights holders to meet with to better understand our organization, analyze your values and other culture documents, and ensure that your Fractional team member is meeting with key team members.

Ongoing HR Support

Congratulations! Our Fractional HR Leader or Team Member is now up-to-speed with your organization and is well on their way to becoming an embedded and valued member of your team. What is the difference between fractional services and consulting?

Within our consulting practice, we bring a specific expertise from our areas of service (i.e. HR, EDI and/or Reconciliation) for a specific project or deliverable. We work with you when you don’t know exactly where to go with a challenge, or to get the results you are looking for. We focus on comprehensive strategy development, developing roadmaps and implementation plans, and share advice to help you move towards action. Our fractional services means we come into your workplace for a specific set of hours and bring both expertise and implementation skills. We also specialize in offering you leadership level HR, EDI and Reconciliation functional support, where we collaborate with you leadership teams to oversee all aspects of those functions on a part-time, ongoing basis.

How often will my Fractional HR Leader or Team Member be available to work within our organization?

The availability of a Fractional HR Leader or Team Member will depend on the needs of your organization and the agreed upon HR deliverables. Generally, services are provided on a part-time basis, with regular schedule determined on a weekly or monthly basis. The Fractional HR Leader or Team Member can work on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid arrangement based on your preferences and depending on your office location.
